The rising of Youtube and Instagram popularity has been affected by the effectiveness of influencer’s existence in the marketing of the product. It has been confirmed by another previous study that stated 80% of marketers find that influencer is an effective marketing strategy.

In the first semester of 2019 research by Jakpat, the trend of Facebook, Youtube, and Instagram has dominated the usage of social media since they positioned at the top 3 most used social media. Current news, comedy, and film are the contents that most of the people like. Furthermore, considered by gender, females tend to choose a beauty review, while males tend to look for current news. When it comes to online behavior, people seem to be more affected by the internet nowadays. Based on that statement, the existence of influencer also becomes more effected to the awareness of the product, purchase intention, and also believability to brand.

According to the AirVisual, Jakarta has stated as the most polluted city in the world on July 26th, 2019, with its Air Quality Index (AQI) in 195. This shows that capital has bad and unhealthy air. AirVisual suggests avoiding outdoor activities for “sensitive” people. Everyone should put on their masker, ventilation is not suggested, and turn on the exhaust machine if the air quality in a room is bad. Air pollution could affect skin health. Through this survey, Jakpat strives to get the insight from Jakartans and surrounding residents about their opinion toward Jakarta’s air pollution and how it affects them in taking care of their skin.

August 4th, 2019 was a historical day due to the massive blackout in Jakarta, some parts of West Java, Banten, and a small of Central Java, which happened around 11.50 WIB. Some areas got the electricity back at 18.00 while some others got it at 21.00 WIB. This blackout caused by disruption on Ungaran-Pemalang Extra High Voltage. Modern life requires electricity in every aspect, moreover on the internet and digital activities. It’s proved by the complaints in social media towards the massive blackout. Besides the darkness and hot temperature, people also complained because they could not get access to on demand service and it’s hard to communicate using phone. Meanwhile, some of them complained about not having some cash and could not pay using e-wallet. Thus, Jakpat try to find out their main concerns and describe it in this report.

In the first semester of 2019, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram have considered as the top 3 most used social media. These three social media become the most daily accessed by most of social media users in Indonesia. Furthermore, Facebook is considered as the most informative platform by most of respondents while YouTube as the most entertaining platform.

Moreover, there is special topic provided in this survey in order to complete social media trend survey. The topic is about social media restriction that was occurred in the late May 2019. At that time, Indonesian general election has an effect on social media traffic content; political issues, information related to elections until the hoaxes were fulfilled the timeline. This phenomena made government restrict several social media access. Therefore, many respondents were feeling disturbed and disagree with the decision to restrict by the Government.

Jakpat conducted a survey of 1,015 respondents to capture the trend of social media usage in Indonesia for the first semester of 2019.
