Moms Perception Towards Sweetened Condensed Milk – Survey Report

by jakmin September 27, 2018
written by jakmin

Recently, Indonesia National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) and Ministry of Health Republic Indonesia announced that the sweetened condensed milk (susu kental manis, herein after referred to SKM) is not categorized as milk product, as it contains much higher amount of sugar and calories instead of the protein. This condition led to controversy among society and business as it has been long consumed as a milk drink. Responding to this condition, we would like to examine respondents awareness about this issue, their response, as well as their possible changing consumption pattern of SCM. This survey is aimed towards 296 respondents nationwide. All respondents in this survey are married female/mother segment. Our basic consideration of choosing this segment due to the significant role they play in deciding her family meals consumption. As the result of this survey, we find that respondents awareness about this issue is quite high and it affects their SCM consumption.  Furthermore, this data would be beneficial especially for those who work in the food and beverages/eatery industries, as well as the fast-moving consumer goods company.

Online Qurban 2018 – Survey Report

by jakmin August 30, 2018
written by jakmin

The trend of online purchasing or online shopping has been growing vastly in the past several years. And, that trend did not leave purchasing Qurban behind because now anyone can buy their Qurban from their computer or smartphone. Therefore we conducted this survey; we wanted to find out what the trend was going to be like, whether everyone would agree to this online system for Qurban, the reasons behind those who have used the online service, etc.

For this survey, we involved as many as 1,375 JAKPAT respondents who were all Muslims. The data was collected on August 15, 2018. The objectives that we wanted to achieve from conducting this survey include to find out about the trend of Qurban online service and to find out the decisions behind using or not using a Qurban online service.

Here are some highlights that you can find in the full report:

Top four issues of concern for most respondents when deciding or not deciding to use a Qurban online service include the Islamic views toward the concepts of buying Qurban meat online, the benefits and reliability from using such an online service, and also the technical information on how to do the purchase.

Other points worth notifying include:

  1. There is a tendency from the respondents toward trusting a crowdfunding/zakat instance for doing an online Qurban
  2. Bukalapak became the top most used e-commerce for this year’s online Qurban

Indonesia Independence Day JAKPAT Survey Report 2018

by jakmin August 23, 2018
written by jakmin

This survey was meant to find out the meaning of the celebration of Indonesia‘s Independence Day. We wanted to see how enthusiastic the young generations represented by the millennials and generation Z were about symbolic activities or actions to nationalism. Therefore we asked the respondents about things like their preference toward local brands, the language used in daily conversation and phone setting, their participation in Independence Day festive events, etc. The result may conclude how much of a nationalist the respondents are.

We were more focused on what the millennials and some portion from the generation Z would do in celebrating the Independence Day. Why such segments? Because the era of digitalization has brought some significant effects toward the lifestyle of these two groups, especially toward the attitude in general.

We managed to ask 1.911 respondents throughout the country. Since we wanted to see the habit of the millennials and generation Z, we only involved respondents no older than 35 years old.

We have highlighted some points that were deemed interesting and worth noticing, and they are:

  • A majority was not excited to watch the flag-flying ceremony at the National Palace on TV
  • Over 50% admitted to not really looking forward to taking part in the flag-flying ceremony and singing the song of Hari Merdeka (official Indonesia’s Independence Day song)
  • Majority of respondents (over 50%) strongly prefer Indonesian brand for clothing items, holiday destination, language used in phone setting and language used in the photo caption on soc-med, over the foreign/international ones
  • Over 20% of respondents in the age range of under 16 to 25 admitted to not taking part in anything in the celebration of the Independence Day
  • Over 20% of respondents in the age range of under 16 to 25 admitted to preferring working at a multinational/international company
