Night Time Routine – Survey Report

People have some habit before they’re going to bed at night. Some of them are attached to their gadget as they cannot sleep before checking their social media or texting with their peers via instant messenger. Some of them need to consume some medicine or supplements. Some of them usually clean their body before they can go to sleep peacefully. Regarding to this matter, recently Jakpat has conducted a survey in order to capture the mapping of Indonesian people’s habit before going to bed at night, focusing on what they access and what they usually use before sleeping. This survey was conducted to 3695 respondents from across Indonesia. Apparently, more than half of respondents (51,64%) usually turn their lights off before going to bed at night. The Trend-Track study is initiated to capture current trend that happens on media that is consumed by netizen on biweekly then weekly basis.
We started this Trend-Track study in the second week of March 2018.
Hopefully, we can continue to feed you with media trend on more real-time and regular basis.

Research method: 

  • 2.193 respondents of JAKPAT
  • Proportionality by internet population
  • The survey is conducted in 5 hours only
  • Data collecting was done on March 18th 2018
  • The survey distributed via JAKPAT app

Objectives:

  • Capturing media habits in the first week of March 2018 (Mar 11th- 17th 2018)
  • Focus on 7 types of media: local/national tv shows, international tv shows, social media, Youtube, Webtoon, Radio, K-Drama.
  • Capturing the trending topics / hot issues in each media

The TrendTrack study tried to covered topics:

  • The Top 5 of W2 March 2018 ( Youtube video, national tv shows, K-Drama, topics recalled on social media, international tv shows, webtoon)

  • SOCIAL MEDIA: The most accessed social media of the week, top topics recalled on social media
  • INTERNATIONAL TV SHOWS: Platform/media to watch, the most watched program of the week
  • K-DRAMA: The Source of Kdrama, the most watched K-drama of the week
  • WEBTOON: Webtoon of the week
  • Segment based Report (teens, young adult, moms)

Reward Points Collecting Habits – Survey Report

If we were to talk about how a marketer made sure their customers kept coming to buy their products or use their service, one of the most common ways is by rewarding the customers with points. A lot of companies that try to keep their customer’s loyal use the approach of giving reward points to customers. Normally the number of points depends on how much has been spent on a single purchase.

This survey was meant to see how our respondents think about and react to points that are rewarded to them after purchasing a product or using a service from the serving company. We managed to ask 1951 respondents from various locations and of different groups of age range.

Do Our Customers Tend to be Impulsive in Buying Product? – Survey Report

Shopping experience has been forever changed since the beginning of online commercial activities; like the online shop or e-commerce for instance. Today, people can easily shop anything from the small to the gigantic stuff by clicking, and their order will be delivered at home. However, it doesn’t mean that the offline buying behavior will come to an end. Although some retails may facing a turbulence period since “the invasion” of online shopping activities, but it doesn’t merely kill the business at the core. As we can see, the number of offline shopping is still pretty high. In this survey, we would like to examine any factor that affect our respondent decision on making online and offline buying. Would their action is based on the more complex deliberative process or even impulsive? What considerable factor shape their decision on purchasing certain product category in both environment? According to our result, respondent decision on buying both in online and offline platforms is more deliberative than impulsive. However, the tendency of impulsive consideration is a little bit shown in the online buying behavior.

Trendy Drinks –Survey Report

In these past few years in Indonesia, there are so many outlets that sell drinks with so many innovated variants, whether it is local product or franchise stall. For this survey, we address those drinks as “trendy drinks”. In this survey, we choose 9 trendy drinks to be highlighted, they are: Thai Milk Tea (such as DumDum, etc.), Vietnam Drip Coffee, Taiwan-style Milk Tea (such as Cha Time, etc.), Mango Time, Cheese Tea, Smoothie Bowl, Es Kopi Susu Gula Aren (coffee milk ice served with palm sugar), Ice Chocolate (served in a glass package), and Shaved Ice Dessert (such as Patbingsoo, etc.). Regarding to this matter, recently Jakpat has conducted a survey in order to see the penetration rate of these trendy drinks toward Indonesian citizen, by pointing out their tasting experience as well as the frequency of their tasting experience toward these trendy drinks. This survey was conducted to 1002 respondents from across Indonesia. Apparently, Thai Milk Tea (56,19%) and Taiwan-style Milk Tea (55,59%) are two kinds of trendy drinks that have been tasted by most respondents. Kids Watching YouTube: Why and How Their Parents Give the Access – Survey Report

The revolution of communication technology leads the younger generation to access digital device way earlier than most of us do. Today, it is a quite common phenomenon seeing kids bring the digital device, watch content from the internet, had their social media account made by their parent, etc. Watching YouTube content is not different. It is very easy to spot kids ranging from toddler to almost teenager watching YouTube content. Especially for kids in toddler age, their behavior of accessing YouTube is supported by their parents, since most of them using their parent’s gadget to watch YouTube. We conduct a survey toward 593 respondents who have kids to understand their permission to access YouTube. According to our result, we find that most parent respondents in this survey give access to their children to watch YouTube for educational purpose. Through YouTube, their kids can learn audiovisual content that they consider beneficial for their kid’s growth. However, they also apply certain restriction due to their kids’ behavior during watching YouTube. Furthermore, in this survey we also examine the positive and negative effect our parent respondents admit regarding their kids access toward YouTube content.

IGTAINMENT: Instagram Infotainment – Survey Report

In the past few years, there is a rapid growth of interest toward the new form of celebrities infotainment (information entertainment) in Instagram (IG). There are so many accounts on IG now that specifically give some feeds about Indonesian celebrities infotainment, such as Lambe Turah, Tante Rempong, and Madam van Julid. In this survey, we address those accounts as “celebrities infotainment accounts”. Regarding to this matter, recently JAKPAT has conducted a survey in order to see the mapping of respondents’ activities in relation to those celebrities infotainment accounts. This survey was conducted to 3006 respondents from across Indonesia. There are two preliminary questions to filter the respondents. From a total of 3006 respondents who visit this survey, we gained 1991 respondents who are the followers of celebrities infotainment account. Apparently, 36,56% of respondents admit that they have ever been involved in a ‘comment war’ with another netizen on some posting of celebrities infotainment account. Watching TV is fun. But when it comes to commercial breaks, what do you do?  JAKPAT tried to solve this curiosity, by conducting a survey to 1,917 respondents. In this survey, JAKPAT used Indonesian Idol as a case study. The questionnaire was distributed on February 13, 2018, during Indonesian Idol. Indonesian Idol was chosen because since its appearance in the last few months it has become a trending topic in social media.
