Articles Popular Frozen Foods in Indonesia: 5 Most Consumed Categories by Jakpat December 2, 2024 written by Jakpat Popular Frozen Foods in Indonesia: 5 Most Consumed Categories The frozen food market in Indonesia has now reached IDR 200 trillion, with significant growth driven by the busy urban lifestyle. This shift reflects changing consumer preferences that have notably impacted frozen food consumption trends. Jakpat conducted a survey of 1,245 respondents to reveal the trend of frozen food consumption in Indonesia. The results provide an overview of the product categories of interest, the reasons consumers choose frozen foods, as well as the factors that influence purchasing decisions. Consumption of Frozen Food and Reasons to Choose It Frozen foods come in a variety of categories, with processed meats such as sausages, nuggets, and meatballs being the top choice preferred by 91% of respondents. In addition, 63% of respondents also consume frozen snacks such as french fries and donuts. As many as 57% of respondents buy frozen meat, while another 31% consume frozen vegetables and fruits. The main reason 86% of people consume frozen food is because of the ease of preparation. In addition, easy storage and long shelf life are the next reasons. This phenomenon is more felt by the Millennial generation who tend to look for practical ways to carry out daily activities. Septiana Widi Sugiastuti, Research Lead of Jakpat argues that the target market for frozen food consumers is urban Millennials who are looking for practical food that is easy to prepare, store, and has a good taste. “Product promotion by highlighting USP (Unique Selling Proposition) such as practicality, cleanliness, and nutritional value can be an effective campaign alternative, while product designs that describe freshness and premium quality can also attract consumers’ attention,” said Septiana. Nutritional Facts of Frozen Food Information about nutritional facts that shows that the product does not contain preservatives is considered important by 63% of respondents. In addition, 57% of respondents consider the high protein content has a plus point, while another 55% notice the product does not contain added coloring and chemicals. Parents tend to pay more attention to the nutritional facts information in frozen foods compared to respondents who do not have children. As many as 42% of respondents who have children check nutritional values with a frequency of always or often, while only 31% of respondents without children do the same. Septiana also responded to parents’ concerns about the quality of nutrients in frozen food. “It is important for marketers to emphasize that modern freezing can maintain the nutritional content of food well, if done with the right methods such as flash freezing. This method is able to maintain the quality of nutrients such as vitamins and minerals, as well as maintain the taste and texture of food,” she explained. This year, the event will be held on November 27, 2024, in 37 provinces, 415 districts, and 93 cities, where people will elect representatives who they believe can voice their interests. Jakpat independently conducted a survey of respondents in several cities in Indonesia regarding social and political views in the context of the 2024 Regional Elections, in Surakarta City, West Java Province, East Java Province, Jakarta Special Region Province, Bandung City, and Medan City. “Social and political conditions in Indonesia are very dynamic, all forms of change can occur in a short time, therefore Jakpat took the initiative to conduct this research to provide an overview of political conditions in the six regions with the largest population in Indonesia,” said Jakpat’s Head of Research, Aska Primardi. All politicians are currently competing to win positive sentiment from the public,” added Aska. Articles 2024 Fashion Trends: Footwear Purchases Are Higher Than Formalwear by Jakpat November 15, 2024 written by Jakpat 2024 Fashion Trends: Footwear Purchases Are Higher Than Formalwear Fashion products are always at the top of purchases, as seen from the 2023 Jakpat report which shows that the purchase of goods in this category was 88%. Although demand decreased to 79%, the purchase of fashion products was still number one. Jakpat conducted a survey to find out the behavior and habits of fashion product buyers in Indonesia. The report, which involved 1,168 respondents, showed what types of fashion products to buy in 2024, their level of satisfaction, and considerations in fashion buying. The survey results show that 54% of respondents bought fashion products this year with the majority purchasing casual clothes. Meanwhile, 53% of respondents plan to buy fashion products and 5 out of 10 people want to buy formalwear for the next 6 months. In addition, interest in buying Muslim clothing in the future is higher than buying sportswear. In terms of behavior, 9 out of 10 respondents bought fashion products online, especially through e-commerce platforms. Another 27% were bought through the fashion brand’s TikTok Shop account and 25% through department stores. Considerations and sources of information in buying fashion products Jakpat looked at consumer behavior in five categories of fashion products: casual clothes, formalwear, footwear, luggage, and accessories. In general, price is the biggest consideration for respondents to buy fashion products, with a percentage of more than 70%. Another factor is the model and material quality of the fashion product, except for footwear which prioritizes size (66%). Head of ResearchJakpat, Aska Primardi assessed that the factors to consider in choosing fashion products are now wider, especially for the younger generation. “Previously, fashion products were considered for mass production and were only bought/worn when certain trends were ongoing. But now we have entered a new era, where Gen Z is informed about environmental issues and sustainability of life, they consider that high-quality clothing is clothing that is obtained and produced in a way that is safe for the physical and social environment. In addition, the clothes must also be able to be used for a long period, and can also be recycled,” he explained. Then, regarding information about fashion products, there are several references. Casual clothes and footwear shoppers tend to look for information from recommendations from close ones such as friends and family. Meanwhile, buyers of formalwear and luggage prefer to seek information through social media, such as Instagram or TikTok. Unlike fashion accessories buyers, they like to look for information about these items from the testimonials of famous people such as artists, influencers, or public figures. Purchased fashion items Jakpat finds out in detail what fashion products are purchased. For casual wear, the most purchased item is t-shirts (69%). Meanwhile, more than 51% of respondents plan to buy trousers. Then, the most purchased footwear is sneakers (46%), followed by sports shoes (38%) and flip-flops (36%). As many as 36% of respondents plan to buy sandals. In formal wear items, the percentage of respondents who want to buy this category is higher than those who have already purchased it. Formal shirts are the most purchased item (85%) and the most wanted to buy (81%). Download Report Request A Quote November 15, 2024 0 comments 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestThreadsBlueskyEmail
