At first, Instagram is the social media for entertainment purpose and Facebook for seeking information. But Instagram as of now has more varied content for both entertainment and informative content. Instagram has become more popular in this second quarter of 2018, getting along well with Facebook. These two social media become the daily consumption of social media users in Indonesia. While Facebook user is 90% and Instagram user is 84% as this survey respondent, Twitter gains almost a half of Facebook user. This year and continue to the next year 2019 will be a higher potential for Twitter to gain more awareness and reach huge users. Meanwhile, Google+ users have to delete their account starting 2nd April 2019. Google+ announced to shut down due to low usage and challenges involved in maintaining a successful product that meets consumers’ expectations. Jakpat collaborated with guest researchers to conduct a social media trend survey in Indonesia in the second semester of 2018. Data were collected twice in the third and fourth quarters of 2018.
